Students test their chess skills during a friendly game. The course is offered at Norfolk Collegiate's Lower School as an after-school enrichment opportunity.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

oaks grow with student life opportunities

Every child has unique passions and abilities. Our guidance and innovative teaching not only equips our students to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals, but also encourages each student to broaden his or her horizons in a safe environment. As such, Norfolk Collegiate students are able to participate in an array of student life opportunities in academics, arts, athletics and extracurricular activities.

Guiding students to develop a strong moral compass and a school-wide code of honor begins at kindergarten. This core value of integrity is part of everyday life, from friendships and social time, and is incorporated into a student-led Honor Council at the Middle and Upper School.

To further develop their sense of community, responsibility and involvement, students also may participate in a variety of extracurricular activities and elective courses. From enrichments at the Lower School to more than 50-led clubs and sports at the Middle and Upper School, students can choose to participate in organizations and societies that will expand their experience and develop their leadership skills.
