| back | | Physics students receive recognition in JMU contest | | | For the second year in a row, two entries from Mrs. Swoope's physics class received recognition from the judges as part of the annual JMU physics contest.
The video "Pendulum Project" by Joey Conn, Joe Godwin, Joe Isley and Robby DeFord won 3rd place, and those students will share the $100 prize. In addition Norfolk Collegiate will receive $100 of physics educational equipment.
The "Peace Through Physics" submission by Mark Jamais, Koren Okpodu and Alexis White received an honorable mention (and was the fan favorite, garnering the largest number of hits) and that team will share a $50 award.
Other submissions included "Pitching" by Will Daniel, Sean Frazier, Zach Morrison and Anish Randeria and "Momentum and Force" by David Corliss and Ken Krogman.
