To receive a Norfolk Collegiate Graduation Diploma, a student must:
(1) Earn a total of 23 high school credits in grades 9-12.
(2) Take a minimum of five credits each semester.
(3) Complete the following specified courses:
i) English: English 9, English 10, English 11, a full year of English chosen from among AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and/or senior seminar offerings taken during the senior year.
ii) Fine Arts/Performing Arts/Communication Arts: One credit from elective offerings
iii) Foreign Language1: Three years of a foreign language2 OR two years of two foreign languages
[1] International students, where English is the student’s foreign language, may have this requirement waived upon admission. They would be required to take an additional English or Communications credit class.
[2] The Headmaster may waive the required third credit for students with documented language disability, if the request is made before beginning the third year of study.
iv) Health/Physical Education: One trimester of Health and the combined total of 5 trimesters of PE and/or 5 seasons of active participation on NCS sports teams during 9th and 10th grade.
v) Mathematics: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II
vi) Science: Chemistry/Biology plus one additional elective credit.
vii) Social Studies: Ancient World History, United States History or AP US History, US Government or AP US Government and Politics
(4) Successful completion of their Senior Project

(1) Earn a total of 25 high school credits in grades 9-12.
(2) Take a minimum of five credits each semester.
(3) Complete the following specified courses:
i) English: English 9, English 10, English 11, and a full year of English chosen from among AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and/or senior seminar offerings taken during the senior year.
ii) Fine Arts/Performing Arts/Communication Arts: One credit from elective offerings
iii) Foreign Language1: Three years of a foreign language2OR two years of two foreign languages
