Norfolk Collegiate Lower School students appeared on WTKR NewsChannel 3 Thursday, Dec. 4 in the 6 p.m. newscast in a segment entitled "Holiday Mail for Heroes." The story featured our students creating holiday cards for military service members.
During the piece, WTKR reporter Bob Matthews interviewed students about their cards and the particular messages they wanted to share with members of the armed forces.
The "Holiday Mail for Heroes" program, which is sponsored by the Red Cross, allows the public to send holiday cards with their message of thanks and cheer to a special post office box. The Red Cross then packages and delivers the card to military bases and hospitals, veteran’s hospitals and other locations during the holidays.
