Norfolk Collegiate Middle School students ended the year on a high note by participating in an inter-class activity entitled the “Mind, Body and Class Spirit Competition” on Monday, June 2.
The competition allowed each student to demonstrate individual strength through enjoyable, hands-on projects. Starting in the morning, the students broke into different groups to work in teams in their selected area of interest. Supervised by faculty and parents, students dispersed into nine groups – Drama Royalty, Bird House Construction, Engineering Attackers, Iron Chef, Games of Manual Dexterity, Athletic Events, Brain Challenge, Battle of the Bands and Designing Divas.
Dr. Kasongo, middle school computer teacher, was very impressed by the student’s efforts. “We are encouraging students to think outside of the box, allowing students to have fun explore and extend their imagination',” he said.
In the afternoon, the nine groups competed, showing off their talents, and the day finished with an award presentation to the winning groups.
