Choose at least two books from this list to read, and then write one four paragraph summary of one of the books you read. This summary will be collected the first day of school and will be used for an assignment which will be given the first week. Please do not wait until the last week to start reading.
Your one summary should follow these guidelines:
Written Book Summary
Each paragraph should include at least five complete sentences. Please remember to indent your paragraphs. Your report may be handwritten or typed.
· First Paragraph– Include the title, author, and the genre of the book. Also, explain why you chose to read this book.
· Second Paragraph– Describe the main character(s) in the book. Use many adjectives and vivid details. Also describe the setting of the book. Where does the story take place? Is it in the present time period? Past? Future?
· Third Paragraph– Give a short summary of the plot. How does the story begin? What is the problem in the story? How is the problem resolved? Include information about any important events.
· Fourth Paragraph– Give your opinion of the book. It’s ok if you didn’t like it! Include reasons to support your opinion.
